No. The MCTA program targets individuals with an active TS/SCI security clearance or higher. MSSA does not provide security clearance sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the required active security clearance to participate in the program.

Yes. US military veterans who meet the eligibility requirements for the learning path they’re applying for are eligible for MCTA.

No. MCTA is a training program. Participation or graduation from MCTA does not guarantee an interview or role at any company. However, participants do have opportunities to network with Microsoft Federal employees. Our goal is for participants to gain employment resulting from MCTA program graduation.

Participation in MCTA is no-cost for participants.

Microsoft does not use GI Bill benefits to cover MCTA, MSSA, or other programs offered through Microsoft Military Affairs. Transitioning service members can apply through SkillBridge or as a veteran.

MCTA training is held remotely in live virtual classrooms held on Microsoft Teams. This allows attendees to participate remotely in any time zone, while receiving live instruction from a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Mentorship sessions are also held on Microsoft Teams. No travel is required to participate.

Throughout the program, you’ll be supported by Microsoft mentors, Microsoft Certified Trainers, a dedicated Career Development Manager, and fellow cohort members who can offer guidance along the way. You’ll also have opportunities to connect and build relationships with industry professionals.

Graduation is just the beginning. As an MSSA graduate, you’ll join the MSSA Alumni Network and remain part of a community with ongoing access to career resources, jobseeker support, and opportunities to stay connected throughout your career journey.

No. MCTA is an intensive full-time training program that requires your active engagement between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, in Pacific or Central Time. Successful participants also dedicate time after classroom hours to lab work and continued learning.

Applications for each MCTA cohort are accepted on a rolling basis. Qualified applicants will be considered and accepted until the cohort reaches capacity, at which point the application window will close.

To apply, you’ll first complete an application that includes basic biographical information. You’ll then be asked to submit supporting documentation, including proof of an active security clearance, relevant background experience, and— for CSA applicants only—proof of completion of the required prerequisite learning.
